Infertility Journey: The Hope Box

Infertility Journey: The Hope Box

So at this point – I’ve share a little about some of the wonderful surprises and blessings that have been granted us on this journey to have a little baby Gagnon. With the many little notes and loving tokens, I decided I wanted a special place to keep and store these things so that some day our little one will be able to look through these things and see the many people who were looking forward to his/her arrival.

I wanted it to be something discreet but pretty so I headed to Hobby Lobby, a place where I knew I could find a variety of boxes! And I found this cute little box shaped like a book with a green vintage styled cover. It’s the perfect size and just the right place to store the sweet notes and letters we received as well as a few Dr. Seuss books I’m looking forward to reading with our little one someday.

There’s something really lovely about having this little box around. Knowing that someday my child will get to look through it’s contents and see how loved he/she was by so many people before they were even born. And it’s nice to have this little box full of little pieces of love and hope sitting in my home as a lovely reminder of what is to come 🙂

Infertility Journey: The Hope Box

Having this little box of hope is encouraging to me. It’s a silent reminder that something wonderful is coming. It’s a visible, tangible thing that reminds me there is hope, even when I often don’t feel like there is. Because this road is not easy. On days when it seems like everyone is announcing they’re pregnant, on days when we receive bad news, on days when this hill just seems too steep to climb, on days when I sit here just trying to figure out what God’s plan is and why nothing in our life has been simple – this box reminds me to stay hopeful… to try to anyway. Someday our family will grow. And someday this box will have an even greater meaning when there’s a little one curled up in my lap listening to Dr. Seuss books and snuggling his/her stuffed bunny.
