Smith Family 2014

“It’s that time of year again!” This was the subject to Sean’s email to me about scheduling their annual family portraits, and it definitely put a smile on my face. This is the third year in a row that I’ve been lucky enough to capture the Smith family portraits, and it’s something I look forward to every year.

Sean and Sarah are two of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They are both so kind and so genuine – it’s a pleasure getting to spend time with them. And Wyatt and Lincoln are seriously adorable. Last year it was SUPER cold on their session day – Wyatt was freezing and so he wasn’t very talkative and Lincoln was little enough yet that talking wasn’t really something he was going to be doing with me. So this year when they popped out of the car and Wyatt immediately started talking to me (“Is this Shelbyville?”) and then Lincoln starting jabbering too! Well – I was shocked and happy as can be! I love kids and I love when they enter into that inquisitive phase – when they’re starting to figure things out and have a million questions! I knew we were going to have fun!

The Smith’s drove out to meet me at Bo Woods – a big park and campgrounds in Sullivan. It’s a beautiful spot for pictures – I love it there, and I was so excited to capture their family portraits here with the lake and the fall colors! Sean and Sarah always do a great job of coordinating everyone and they’re such a gorgeous family it’s hard not to get fun and great portraits for them. We had fun playing games and walking around the park. The boys even rode their tricycle!

I had so much fun getting to document this awesome family again this year! Here’s a glimpse at a few of their favorites!

Stephanie is able to capture the greatest moments of our family time and time again. The sessions tend to be very chaotic with our boys and somehow she comes through with the best pictures. The boys have such a great time with her. Each year she seems to outdo herself. The picture of us facing the lake and Stephanie is shooting far behind us is just breathtaking, timeless and gallery-worthy. Thank you Stephanie!
