So if you follow my instagram account, you may have noticed I was over at Saint Teresa on Tuesday morning photographing their spring sports team portraits. It was an early and busy day. I have a love/hate relationship with early morning shoots. I love the productivity of getting up early and completing a task so early in the morning. But I am so not an early morning person these days. In fact, my friend Sarah and I were recently discussing how photographers in general aren’t really early morning people.

Anyway I digress. As always – you guys know I love getting to see my high schoolers. Getting to know them a little bit on days like these is fun for me. Even if it’s just how they interact with one another – it’s fun for me to get an idea of who these guys and girls are. And it makes taking their senior portraits so much easier too because I already feel like I know them a little bit before they ever schedule their appointment.

In case you didn’t know – there are a lot more spring sports than winter sports. My first shoot with Saint Teresa was for their winter sports portraits, which meant I photographed the boys and girls basketball teams and the cheerleaders. But spring sports photos mean that I got to photograph the softball girls, boys baseball, boys track, girls track, and girls soccer. We got lucky that it was a nice spring day. Not much sun , but very little wind and plenty warm – so we got to do these photos in front of the school. Everyone did a great job listening and moving along so that we got through them all pretty quickly.
