This weekend we celebrated this amazing man that I get to do life with. This was his first birthday as a daddy and so it was a little different than birthdays past. Before Marlee I always did my darnedest to make sure his day was special – filled with friends and fun and usually a pretty awesome gift! Well I didn’t quite make that happen this year. Instead we had a more chill day at home with friends and food. The day after was spent celebrating with family in a more laid back way. And his present is still on its way. So it wasn’t epic but it was still focused on him!

Daily I find myself amazed by how incredibly blessed I am to get to do life with him. We’ve been through so much over the course of his past 13 birthdays and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s been my rock and shoulder to cry on through some of the hardest moments of life. The person I vent to when I’m angry and hurt. He’s the one who makes me laugh when no one else can. He’s always believed in me (even when I’m not sure I believe in myself) and supported me in my every endeavor. He’s incredibly smart, funny, articulate, an amazing cook, talented artist, generous giver, wonderful husband and the best daddy ever. Watching him with Marlee makes me ridiculously happy.
