The Plain White T-shirt Challenge
Today I thought I’d take a few minutes to show you how you can take one simple piece – like a white T-shirt and build a variety of looks with that one central piece. Everything you’re going to see below are pieces you can find at your local Maurices. I’ve created everything from a simple casual look, to a dressy look, a sporty look and an edgy look. These are things you can just wear for fun or with friends or you can use these little tips and tricks to pick out what you might want to wear for your senior portrait session. So let’s start!
The Casual White T-shirt Look
For this look I took the white T-shirt and paired it with a pair of straight leg distressed jeans. To keep the look ultra casual wear a pair of simple canvas shoes. I chose these pink ones for a girly feminine look.
The Breezy Beachy White T-shirt Look
For this look I took the white T-shirt and paired with coral colored crochet maxi skirt. I liked adding this mint chevron scarf to the outfit to add in a cool soft color with the bright warm color of the coral. And then for a fun sparkly look added these bedazzled sandals to add to the beachy feel of the outfit.
The Good Girl White T-shirt Look
I don’t know why but I feel like this is the good girl look. I took the same white T-shirt again. This time I paired it with some dark wash, boot cut jeans, and an aqua colored cardigan. To give it a little sparkle – I added a pair of black metallic flats with a hint of rhinestones and a long silver bangle necklace.
The Athletic White T-shirt Look
I feel like this is a sporty kind of look. This is something I’d wear over to a friends house after finishing up my yoga routine. So I took that plain white T-shirt and combined it with a pair of black yoga pants – the kind that flairs away from the calf. I love this grey knit asymmetrical zip up cardigan so I had to add it to this look. I pair of comfy, casual mint toms and some cute dangle earrings and you’re all set!
The Edgy White T-shirt Look
I decided to put together something a little different a go for an edgy look. So I took our white t-shirt added a pair of grey skinny jeans and a faux leather and fur trimmed jacket. Throw on a pair of tall black heeled boots and some nickel bangle bracelets and earrings and we have an awesome tough girl inspired look.
The Dressy White T-shirt Look
The last look I wanted to go for something a little more dressed up and professional. I took the white t-shirt and paired it with a black skirt. Through a cardigan or fitted black jacket over top. Add a pair of black lace heels and some sparkly accessories and you have a perfect dressed up look with this white t-shirt.
Well I hope you’ve found this little White T-shirt Challenge fun and a great insight into how you can take one simple piece and create a variety of looks! I’m hoping to have a lot more of these What to Wear Tips coming to you in the future.

I want those pink canvas shoes! They are adorable!!!
This is a very engaging, informative, and aesthetically pleasing display of your creativity and spatial gifting, Stephanie…not to mention your gift of style. How cool, really! I wouldn’t have a clue in putting something like this together (although I did create a pretty terrific web quest years back while taking a course necessary toward getting certified in Elementary Education at UIS). No wonder you are such a great photographer!
