Packaging with Love

I’m the type of person that I want the people I care about to know how much I care about them. And I try to show that by placing extra time and attention in the little things I do for them. I’m the crazy person who spends way too much time at Christmas creating color coordinated packaging and wrapping for my gifts. I’ve even been known to spend the time hand stylizing the  packaging too. (Here’s a little peek at last year’s Christmas wrapping.)

This idea is true for me in my client relationships too. Because I genuinely care about each and every one of my clients. And I want you each to know that I care enough about you to take the time to focus on the details and make you feel special. It’s why I like to have that pre-session consultation to get to know one another. It’s why I like to make your session fun and stress-free. It’s why I invite you into my home for your View & Order appointment. And it’s why I take great care in packaging your products for you too.

If you know me – you know that the fun packaging begins with your first consultation with me. The first thing all my clients receive is a welcome packet envelope. This envelope is packed full of information about me, my business, our products, how to choose print sizes, my business card, and even 20% off coupons to Maurices.

But the fun packaging doesn’t stop there! If you were to step into my office and take a peek into my closet – you’ll see an assortment of boxes, plastic sleeves, tissue paper, wax seals, paper bags, string, ribbon, all my welcome packet pieces, etc. This closet is one of my singular most beneficial things. Having one well-organized space for all the things I need is exceedingly helpful in my being able to efficiently package everything for my clients. So as simple as it is – I love this closet!

One thing I do is have every order my clients place delivered straight from the lab to me. This way, I can go through each order and check all the portraits and products myself to be sure that everything is up to my high standards. My lab is pretty amazing – so I have rarely had an issue that needed to be resolved. Once I’m confident in the quality of your artwork… I then begin packaging them.

The first step for me is to place all photographs into protective plastic sleeves. That way – if it happens to be raining or somehow water manages gets through all the layers of packaging – your photographs will still be safe in their plastic sleeves.

From there, each grouping of photographs is placed into an appropriately sized box – 16×20, 8×10, 5×7, or wallet. The photographs get wrapped in tissue paper and sealed shut with my wax seal. The boxes get stamped with my logo and then wrapped in twine and wax sealed together as well. Then all the boxes get placed into a correspondingly sized paper bag and stuffed with tissue paper.

And to give you an even better idea of the process… here’s a quick video I created to try and share with you the actual time and love I put into each individual client’s order. Enjoy!
