This session you guys… Man! I felt so blessed and honored that Katie messaged me about capturing some images of sweet miss Amelia! Katie is one of my most favorite people on this planet! She has been such a blessing to me and to be able to document this moment… well there’s no greater gift I could give!

So do you all remember… way back… when I first began to share about our struggle to have children? Well Katie was one of the very first people to reach out to me! Like me, Katie is also what the online community lovingly calls a Cyster (someone with PCOS – get it – cuz it sounds like sister haha). It was nice having someone who understood the struggle of this syndrome and the random and weird ways it can effect your body. And as we both embarked on our roads to grow our families, we swapped notes on our prescribed treatments and procedures. Since I had no other friends who’ve dealt with this struggle – it was such a joy to have Katie in my life. We kept track of what was going on, touched base with each other, shared in our sorrows and then…

I got the ever so awesome pregnancy announcement message! My heart was SO SO happy for these two! They fought the long hard battle right along with us and I’m so overjoyed that their journey ended in this beautiful baby girl – Amelia Rose!

So now you probably understand why I was so honored and thrilled that Katie asked me to do these 3 month portraits for them! They came all the way from California and met me at our Kirksville location for this sweet baby girl’s session. I had a few fun little accessories I thought we might try out for her and Katie brought a super fun tutu for Amelia to wear too!

Amelia was so PERFECT for her session! She came in sleeping like an angel in her car seat and awoke a happy little girl! We got some sweet images of her all swaddled up with one of my rustic headbands from Oh Love Props. I wanted to be sure we got some detail shots for Nathan and Katie too since they didn’t really get to do a full newborn session. So we of course had to get little fingers and toes and her cute little lips. We finished up her session with some family portraits – their first official professional photos as a family of three! And they are a pretty adorable family if I do say so myself!
