So you guys know how much I enjoy branching out and trying to find new ways to express myself through my art. Well I had this idea for one of my self portrait pieces I’ve been dreaming up. It involves the idea of creating yourself and for what I’m wanting to do – it requires me to learn some new retouching techniques. So I finally found what I was looking for to help learn how to do this and I pretty quickly got obsessed with it and started trying it out on a bunch of different portraits.

I wanted to see what different styles might look like, how much detail I liked in them, different textures that might need to be applied to achieve the realistic effect I’m hoping for in my fine art piece. But I’ve been having so much fun playing with this new method of digitally painting that I decided it’s definitely something I want to start offering to all of you! I’m still learning a lot about this technique and learning to gain more control with it. But I think it is such a unique and fun thing to be able to offer these custom artworked digital paintings. How neat to have an image of your son or daughter where it looks like it was actually painted onto a canvas with brush strokes!
