Last week on Monday, we had our monthly meeting of the Central Illinois Professional Photographers. April’s meeting was dedicated to off camera flash and shooting after dark. As always we started the meeting by briefly discussing where we are at with the group as well as plans for next month’s meeting and our print competition! This month’s theme was Composition and the winner was Natalie McKee with her awesome shot from the Stephanie Pana Shootout.

Once the we’d gotten everything we discussed we headed out into the rain with our awesome model- the beautiful Hunter – to get our learning on! Sarah of Sarah Jane Photography was leading this month’s meeting as off camera flash is a technique she utilizes in nearly every shoot to give her image that extra pop and drama that her clients love! Sarah showed us the equipment she uses and went over some of her tried and true methods for attaining the look she likes for her artwork.

One of the things I love about this group is that a camaraderie has definitely grown between all of us! We’re not just a bunch of photographers anymore – we’re friends and we are always having a good time! Here’s just a brief peek at our April meeting!
