Celebrating an Amazing Lady!
Yesterday was a fun day! It was my mom’s birthday and I hadn’t seen her in a while so I wanted to surprise her! So I drove into Decatur early in the afternoon to surprise her with a visit from me and some flowers from all of us! It was so fun! She loved the surprise visit and the flowers (which I got to represent our family: a red rose for my dad, three pink for us kids and two white roses for my hubby and Joel’s fiance). I actually had the florist include a little bluebird too… My mom had a bluebird of happiness in her bridal bouquet which she gave to me for mine, but sadly it was lost in the fire – so I wanted to include a bluebird in her bouquet too. 🙂
We talked and went shopping and had a nice dinner and chatted some more. When I was younger – I used to butt heads with my mom a lot. I remember very well what it’s like to be a teenager and feel like the whole world is against you and no one understands. But as I’ve gotten older I see where she’s coming from and my love, understanding, appreciation, and respect only grows for her day by day. She’s a wonderful mom with a big heart and a deep belief in God. And I’m so glad to have her in my life!
I hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday and I’ll see you back here on Friday! 🙂
