Behind the Scenes: Erin’s Your Story Shoot
You may recall several weeks ago that I shared an exciting new project I’m working on and I’m really thrilled to be giving my senior models the chance to take part in it. The project is called The Your Story Project, and it is a collaborative creative project where we work together to create an art piece that visual portrays your own personal story. I did one for myself entitled The Girl Who Gave Too Much because I have a tendency to put everyone else’s needs before my own. It was incredibly liberating and super exciting seeing something that is part of who I am displayed in unique and different way. And I’m so excited to be doing this with others too!
I was lucky enough to have my best friend, Erin, over a couple weeks ago and we worked on her Your Story Project art piece. When I asked Erin what she would want to do for her piece – she kind of jokingly brought up the title “The Girl Who is Really a Dude,” which I thought was perfect and I already had several ideas running through my head. The more Erin thought about her story – the more she really liked this idea. So that’s the story we decided to convey.
So now for a little background as to why this title fits the ever amazing and beautiful Erin. This awesome lady is a pharmaceutical rep. And I’m sure now that I’ve said those two words you’ve already developed an opinion based on the little you know. That is her whole struggle… With her job, she is often supposed to look and dress a certain way – very professional, but also girly. And this outward appearance can often give people a false impression of who she is. The truth is that she is an incredibly hard working individual, helping pay her husband’s way through medical school. She’s a take charge person who strives to be excellent in all she does. But she is also one of the most grounded, true to herself, and deep individuals you could hope to meet. While on the surface she may look girly and high maintenance – nothing could be farther from the truth. So while on the outside she may look a certain way – her true nature often feels completely opposite.
I’m not going to reveal the finished piece to you all today since I’m hoping to have a big unveiling of all the Your Story Pieces later in the year, but I would like to show you a little peek behind the scenes of Erin’s Your Story Project shoot. So here’s a little glimpse at how we do one of these sessions!
