I am so incredibly honored to have been able to help provide photography for this month’s issue of THRIVE Decatur. Kat Smalley who runs the magazine is an amazing individual and I enjoy snagging a copy for a read whenever I can. So to be able to help fill it’s pages with photographs & to be featured on the cover is an AMAZING opportunity! My assignment was to photograph Christmas lights and decor from the small surrounding towns because THRIVE did a feature on small town Christmas events. Which was a little tricky. We needed to have the photographs to Kat before Thanksgiving so they’d have time to lay out the magazine and print it before December rolled around. Unfortunately all the small towns I drove to didn’t have Christmas decor set up, most small towns wait until after Thanksgiving to get set up for the holidays. So I had to get a little creative and try to find ways to capture the theme of the issue without having the specific small town scenery to photograph.
