St. Teresa High School Boys Basketball | Shelbyville, IL | Sports Photography
I’m so proud of my brothers, so I was super happy to get to take pictures at my little brother, Jeremy’s, basketball game in Shelbyville last week. I took pictures for both the Junior Varsity and Varsity games, and both teams played very well.
I enjoy doing sport photography. It requires so much more from me than a standard session. What I mean is that at a sporting event, I have to quickly figure out what my settings need to be and I often have to work with really terribly lighting situations. So it challenges me to really know my camera and what I’m doing, which helps me in all the other areas of photography too.
I have a different style of shooting than some. I really don’t like using my flash if I can help it, and I like when there’s motion blur in my sports pictures. I like when I get a player in focus but the background is blurred. To me that shows how much energy is exerted by these players during the game so you’ll notice a lot of that in my pictures.
Enough of my rambling – here’s the sneak peek. (The full gallery should be up at greentreemedia.zenfolio.com by the end of the week.)
