Last week, we shared some tips on outfit options for senior guys. This week for What to Wear Wednesday, we’re going to look at some options that are super fun for you awesome senior ladies! Now these are just some general tips of what I find is super fun, and makes for awesome senior portraits! Obviously, the most important thing is to be true to you! Because that what your senior portraits are all about!

The Dress Shirt
Let’s start with the dress shirt. Now this can be a lot of things – this basically anything more than a t-shirt. It can be a loose flowy top or something a little more fitted. And there are so many options available to really capture who you are. Below you can see a wide variety of styles some of the Class of 2016 senior girls wore this past year!

The Jacket
The addition of a jacket has become a really popular look in recent years. This is something that could be easily added over top your dress shirt or even a simple tank top or t-shirt. Denim jackets are awesome for adding to a more formal top or dress to dress them down a bit to give them an entirely different feel. Here’s some fantastic looks some of our girls wore last year!

The Cozy Sweater
I love a sweater! It just adds the perfect cozy feel to your senior portraits. And it’s the perfect option for your fall senior sessions! You could choose something more chunky or something lighter weight. It could be a pull-over sweater or a zip up. There are so many different styles and looks you can create with this lovely option!

The Sweet Dress
If you enjoy a sweet little dress – this option can add a fun look to your senior portraits. Again there are so many styles here for you to choose from just make sure the dress you choose is very you! (My rule is if you wouldn’t wear it again – you shouldn’t wear it for your senior session.) Colors, patterns, long, short – the sky is the limit with this versatile look!

The Button Down
The button down shirt has become an incredibly popular style for my senior girls. This past year, flannel tops were all the rage, as well as denim button downs too. It’s another great way to create a more casual, tomboy style look.

Accessories
Girls have the fun of accessories they can add to their portrait too. Things like scarfs, chunky necklaces, hats, bracelets, and more… These things can all have an impact on the look and feel of your images! A chunky necklace or a dainty necklace – those two things can have a very different look and feel. Different colors and accessories can help tell your story. Don’t forget to leave them out! 🙂

The Prom Dress
From time to time, I have a senior who chooses to include her prom or homecoming dress in her senior portraits! And I LOVE when this happens. It gives us a chance to create something fun and different with these awesome gowns that you wear! It’s so fun to add another fun memory to these dresses!

Hobbies
And lastly – don’t forget to include your hobbies! Whether it’s your pets, your love of dance, a passion for sports, or a favorite sporting team – it’s so important to capture who you are in your senior session! So bring these things with you that make you unique and let’s create photographic art that captures this unique and special side of you!
