Pieces of Me: Vintage Cameras
I wanted to share something a little quirky about me today. I love photography! I have for a really long time! When I started getting interested in photography I actually worked with a film camera and in college I shot on film, developed the negatives and processed the prints all in the dark room. Some days I really miss the calming, controlled, methodology of working with film. There’s something really zen about developing your film and processing your prints in the dark room. I don’t really know how to describe it – just that it is this beautifully wonderful experience.
Well I lost my original film cameras in the fire a couple years ago but I had always thought about replacing them. Well a couple months ago, Ryan and I went thrifting and a I found an amazing find! A Circoflex film camera! I was so stoked to find it and in such great working condition! I even got film to start using it for Christmas. And thus the vintage camera collection started!
I now have two polaroids, 5 vintage cameras (4 of which Ryan got me for Christmas) and then my grandma surprised me at Christmas with 5 of her old cameras she no longer uses. Ryan and I have been having a lot of fun finding batteries, film, and all the goodies to get these cameras up and running. So slowly but surely I’m getting to explore my passion further and further. Which is so exciting for me!
Here’s just a quick little peek at some of my camera goodness! 🙂
