A Trip to the Apple Orchard
If you’ve been following me for a while now – you may recall that fall is my favorite time of year. There are so many things I love about fall: the weather, cookouts and campfires, boots and sweaters, hot cocoa and s’mores, and one of my favorite things – trips to the apply orchard! We had a family get together planned but things fell through, so I asked my mom and dad if they’d like to the come out to our house for a visit and trip to the orchard.
We really couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was a little wet outside from all the rain earlier in the week. But the day was really quite lovely. The orchard we chose to go to was the Okaw Valley Orchard in Bethany. They have an awesome little shop with apples by the bushel or peck, cider, butters, and all kinds of little things. Of course we had to get some apples and cider. And after we purchased what we were wanting, we walked through the orchard a bit. Of course, I brought my camera to take some pictures of the trees and apples and scenery. They have a pretty little pond out back with a dock out over the water with a single bench sitting on it. I imagine it’s a lovely place to sit in the evenings and just take int he scenery.
After the orchard we went out to eat with my parents and then just visited at our house for a nice while. I think it’s so easy to let the busyness of life keep you from enjoying these little moments. From taking time to just breathe in quality time with those you love. So I try to make it a priority to really soak in these times. The quiet spaces in between. The moments that really matter.
