This Week
So this morning Ryan wakes me up at 6:30…still in his sweatpants and a t-shirt.
“I need your help,” he says.
So I get up and he tells me that the water isn’t working. He could hear water in the pipes when he tried turning on the faucet and he couldn’t find any leaks. So we start trying to figure out what it could be. My brain immediately jumped to a broken pipe somewhere in our yard. And then it jumped to the bill we would get to fix the issue and I started trying to figure out where that money would come from.
Our next thought was maybe we accidentally missed a bill. So we went to the filing cabinet and double-checked…we had paid. So that wasn’t it.
So finally we decided to all the emergency water number…it wasn’t really an emergency but we needed to know what was going on. So apparently a water main burst. Honestly I was kind of relieved. That meant it wasn’t our fault or a problem we were going to have to pay to be fixed. So we’re hoping to have water back by later this afternoon.
Technology has not been my friend lately either. Back in late February, my computer crashed. When I say crashed I mean, it completely quit working. Luckily I back up everything…three times. So I was good as far as not really losing anything important. So Ryan and I rushed out to get a new laptop from Best Buy (since our nearest Apple store is 3 hours away). Anyway, We got the new laptop and brought it home and realized within that first week of owning it that the USB ports weren’t working properly.
Best Buy refused to do anything about it since I didn’t buy their insurance policy so I was left to contact Apple about the issue. I kept putting off calling though. The issue wasn’t so bad that I couldn’t do what I needed to do and my schedule has stayed consistently booked up since April. But now the issue has reached a point where it frustrates me and I need to get it fixed before the Apple warranty expires. So with any luck, my laptop will be off on it’s way to the Mac shop to be repaired tomorrow. Needless to say, I’m going to be thrilled to get it back in much better working condition.
Okay – so the other issue is my phone. You all know that Ryan and I recently switched over to Verizon. So got a new phone. Well I had been having problems with it too. It just randomly was shutting off. The battery was fully charged, I didn’t hit any buttons, it just quit working. And the only way you could get it to work again was to plug it and let it reboot. Frustrating! And problematic since it is my business phone. Anyway…I had it replaced yesterday and it’s been working wonderfully so far. So I’m really happy about that too.
It’s really not that bad though. All the problems were manageable and I didn’t lose any client data. Plus, they should both be fixed shortly and I’ll be back on track again. 🙂
Check back tomorrow to get a sneak peek at Christina and David’s engagement pictures. 🙂
