Saint Teresa Musical: Anything Goes
Today I’m sharing a little peek at the matinee performance of Anything Goes Saint Teresa performed last weekend. When I was a freshman in high school, we put on this show as well under the direction of the wonderful Mrs. DeJaynes. It was one of my favorite plays we ever did. I loved the comedy in it and the musical numbers were awesome. We had some serious talent when I was in school so I was excited to see what Mrs. Davis and this year’s high schoolers would do with the play.
It’s so funny how much has changed since I was in high school at Saint Teresa (and how much hasn’t changed at all I suppose.) When I was in school – all our performances were at the Civic Center. These days, Saint Teresa creates their shows at school. It was kind of neat walking in the doors of the school and into the entrance for the play. They did a great job setting the scene as you walk in with a boat mural and floatation devices.
Plays are done on the stage in the gym so I walked in to a sea of chairs and people enjoying the show. Another great thing about Anything Goes is that it’s enjoyable for a wide range of ages. I saw both older and younger people really enjoying the play. The kids did a great job singing, dancing and acting their hearts out. One of the things I was really looking forward to was Moony’s Bluebird song and Joe Good did a magnificent job with it!
I hope you got a chance to make it out for one of the performances this weekend. It really was a great show! Huge congrats to the actors, dancers, musicians, and crew who did a wonderful job! Here’s just a little glimpse at my view…
