Today I wanted to show you the power of accessories. It amazes me how you can take one outfit and change out a few accessories and have a totally different look! So I thought I’d challenge myself a little and take a pretty straight forward outfit and see what changing some accessories like shoes, jewelry and hair pieces can do to create a totally knew and different feel. Let’s get started!

The Dressy
So to dress up this plaid shirt and blue jeans look – I added a pair of patent leather red pumps to bring out the red in the shirt and some sparkly bracelets and necklace. The red shoes are going to be the brightest most vibrant piece to this outfit – so they’ll draw your attention first. With the shoes being the focal point adding some sparkle – it’s easy to dress up this simple look.

The Hipster
To give this look that more hipster vibe – I traded the heels for some black converse sneakers and a knit beanie. You could even add the thick glasses to take this full step into the hipster look and your golden. The idea here is to create a relaxed and laid back vibe and these simple accessories do that easily.

The Edgy
To take the look and shift it into a tough girl edgy feel – swap out the sneakers for some combat/biker boots and some kind of heavier silver necklace. If you wanted to add a black leather cuff bracelet – that would take this look one step even further into the edgy arena.

So there’s just three really simple ways to take the exact same outfit and give it a totally different look. You could even go a step further and add scarves or leather jackets. And the way you do your hair and make up can make a big difference too. You have so many options to showcase who you are in the outfits you choose to wear for your session!
