Today I get to share the newest members of the Pezzelle family – August and Shepherd Pezzelle. These two little men belong to my middle brother, Joel, and his wife, Stacey who live over in Troy, MO. This new family of four is blessed with a lot of amazing family and friends, who have done their best to shower them with all they might need with both hands full with these cute little bundles.

Of course, as is often the case with twins these two littles decided to make their debut early and arrived on March 23rd, when Stacey was 35 weeks pregnant. Their momma did a good job and thankfully they arrived well developed and healthy. They were on the small side at around 4 lbs each so they did have a couple weeks stay in the NICU. August, named after his daddy, arrived first; followed very closely by Shepherd, whose middle name is for his mommy.

Because newborn sessions can be quite time consuming and I wanted to be sure I had everything I needed – my parents let me borrow their van and decided to tag along for a visit. We arrived in Troy at around 3 pm for their newborn session and I started setting up my necessities. Stacey did a wonderful job getting the house ready and getting the boys nice and full for their session. This was my first time with twins and they definitely gave me a run for my money. August wasn’t too keen on sleeping and you guys know how much I love my sleepy newborn portraits. 😉 But he eventually dozed off and we were able to get some great portraits for this new family of four.
