Night Sky Photography
Sometimes, or rather oftentimes, I feel this need to create. Once upon a time… one of my college professors told me I should never do portrait photographer, but stick to nature and landscapes. Today I find that statement rather funny considering my clients love the way I bring out their inner spark and personality in their portraits. But I do still love nature and landscape photography and frequently find myself drawn towards capturing this great big beautiful work of art we call the world!
It had been years since I had done any long exposure night photography, so one evening when the sky was particularly clear – I popped outside for a little bit. One of the things I love about living out in the country is the beautiful wide open starry skies we get at night out here. So I took a few minutes and just relaxed outside capturing these images. Our barn isn’t the most lovely sight but there was an excellent view of what I thought was the Milky Way. But the Big Dipper and Cassiopeia were brilliantly present over our house so I had to take a couple pictures that way as well. I did love the awesome glow I got coming from the house too. It added a fun feel.
I had a blast taking these pictures and I’m looking forward to working on some more evening sky photographs in the future! Let me know what you think!
