Mike & Marcy’s Wedding | Chicago, IL | Wedding Photography
It was a beautiful Saturday morning when Ryan and I packed up our car and headed up to Chicago for Mike & Marcy’s Chicago wedding. I photographed Marcy’s sister, Sara’s, wedding in January this year and I had been looking forward to seeing the family again.
It was a long ride up to Chicago, but totally worth it. It was beautiful out and the church was lovely with lots of greenery and scenery all around. More gorgeous than that was Marcy in her wedding dress. She made an absolutely beautiful bride, and I know Mike couldn’t agree more – the look on his face when he first saw her walking down the aisle towards him was priceless.
It was a beautiful service filled with many heart-felt words and tears. And when it was all over – Marcy and Mike were both grinning from ear to ear. Afterwards we headed outside to get some pictures of the lovely bride and groom. Without further ado – here’s Marcy & Mike’s sneak peek.
Check out this handsome groom!
Mike’s mom was so sweet – you could tell she was so proud of her son and new daughter-in-law.
I snuck into the room where the girls were getting ready and to get some last minute pictures of them adding their finishing touches.
Mike and Marcy opted to wait to see each other. So Mike kept his back turned until Marcy started to make her way down the aisle.
Look at this gorgeous couple!
I love how much these two make each other laugh. Their marriage will definitely be filled with lots of joy and laughter.
I have to admit – I loved this tree and Marcy and Mike make this image look so beautifully perfect… like they are supposed to be their under the tree.

Here’s what Marcy and Mike had to say about their day:
I got my dress at Nordstrom’s Bridal Boutique in Chicago (very affordable and they have a lot of more simple dresses)
I did initially plan the whole big wedding, but then switched to a small wedding for several reasons: First, I always wanted a small wedding and realized that I was only doing the larger wedding to make other people happy. Second, early into planning the details, I realized that it had started to become more of a chore or a job than a fun thing for Mike and I to do together. Also, I had heard too many stories of brides who couldn’t even remember half the wedding day because they were running around greeting everyone and worrying about details. Finally, I knew I was never going to make it through my vows without crying and found it much easier to take a crowd of 20 people rather than 200 🙂 I wouldn’t change a second of our fabulous day!!!
