Marlee’s 18 Months Old
It’s hard to believe but this little lady of ours is officially a year and a half old! the time is seriously zipping by so fast and I’m constantly in awe of how big she’s getting. I’d say almost daily I say aloud “when did you get so darn big!?”
With all of that growing so many new skills have been forming and that is equally amazing to see! She doesn’t just walk these days – she runs! Across the house, down the sidewalk, through the yard, really anywhere her little legs will take her! She loves steps and is learning to step up and go back down them. But she is fully convinced she is a big kid and insists on trying to do it the big kid way – so she keeps us on our toes. And she’s starting to really take an interest in climbing. Thus far – she hasn’t tried to climb out of her crib, but I’m realizing that’s only a matter of time.
She’s picking up words, phrases, and music super fast and is really good at communicating what she wants and needs. She’ll tell us when she wants apple juice or milk. She’ll let us know she wants to call Nonni or see grandma. She’ll comment if something’s too hot. She’ll even tell say “all done” to let me know she’s over me styling her hair. And she’ll happily say “Elmo!” when she wants us to put on one of her new favorite shows Sesame Street. She still loves My Little Pony and Doc McStuffins but Elmo’s World is definitely a favorite. She knows the theme songs and joins in when they are on the tv, which is beyond adorable to watch. She still loves watching the trains drive by and reading her books… in fact she loves her books so much most of them are creased or bent or have bite marks in them haha. She does not know a stranger and seems to make friends everywhere we go. She’s such a lover too – she gives lots of hugs and kisses to her toys and cup and people too.
I figured 18 months old is quite the mile marker and deserved a quick photoshoot. It’s much harder to get her to sit still for the camera these days so I didn’t press my luck. We’re lucky enough to have a session scheduled with one of my best friends in the next couple weeks and I’m excited to see what someone else can capture of her haha.
Between my house nostalgia and this growing girl – I wanted to be sure to capture this time and share a little peek at our amazing lady with you! She’s growing up so fast and we are exceedingly proud of her and who she is growing up to be!
