The Hays Family | Decatur, IL Family Photography
I’m so happy to get to show you this beautiful family today! This was my last official session for 2014. Janette contacted me a in early December to get a session scheduled for her family while her boys were home for the holidays. It worked out perfect that I had an opening available right before my Christmas vacation to squeeze them in for the holidays.
I never schedule a session without meeting with the client first, but I decided in this situation to make an exception. I didn’t want the Hays family to miss out on family portraits since Eric and his wife, Jaqueline were here all the way from California and Sean was home from school at SIU. The Hays family met me at our Kirksville home studio which is PERFECT for indoor sessions. When we rebuilt our home – we designed the front room with a big picture window so that we get beautiful soft light streaming in. And it ended up being the perfect day for this family of five’s family photos.
They all did a great job of coordinating, wearing neutral tones of cream, brown, and grey. So in keeping with their neutral palette I put them on a nice green backdrop I borrowed from one of my dear friends and fellow photographer, Sarah. I feel so lucky to have gotten to work with this gorgeous family and help them capture these moments while everyone was home for Christmas! Here’s just a quick peek at a few of the Hays family’s favorite portraits!
