Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Valentine’s Day is a holiday I very much love. Not for candies or chocolates or flowers or jewelry. Valentine’s Day is special to me because it was the day Ryan asked me to be his. I remember the day clearly – rushing home that night from my friend, Erin’s house to Instant Message with him. (Yes – kids – I’m old.) We played the question game – the one where I ask him a bunch of questions (What’s your favorite color? What’s your favorite food?) all leading up to me getting enough nerve to ask that one question – Do you like anybody?
He was so nervous he didn’t know what I meant and I was so nervous I was too afraid to ask again. We talked for hours while I worked on homework. And then just before midnight he asked me to be his Valentine… and his girlfriend. For 10 years he’s been mine and I’ve been his. For a decade I’ve gotten to spend my life with this amazing man. Each day getting to know him better and loving him more. I didn’t know a love like this existed or that someone could love me like he does. I feel exceedingly blessed each day to be his wife. Waking up beside him each morning and falling asleep by his side each night. Knowing he is always there for me when I need him at any point in the day.
Whether you are single, dating or happily married – I wish you a very Happy Valentine’s Day! If you have someone special in your life – give them a squeeze, let them know how much you love them. And if you haven’t found that special someone yet, know that they are out there. They will find you, and you will find them when the time is finally right. And know that you are loved today. Loved by your family and your friends. And loved by me. I may not know you. I may have never met you. But I love you exactly as you are! And I’m wishing you the happiest of days today and everyday! 🙂
