Happy Thanksgiving!
Well Happy Thanksgiving to everyone today! I’m sure you are all spending time with your loved ones today whether that’s just you and your pet, your immediate family or the whole extended bunch. That is what this holiday is all about after all! Well I thought since I haven’t posted daily Thankful posts this year on my Facebook I would take today to post a thankful blog post.
I feel like I’m a pretty thankful person in general and always have been. But after the fire last year it really starts to put a lot into perspective. Like how important spending time with family and loved ones really is. This time of year is always really busy for us. Photography really picks up in the fall with all the beautiful colors and lovely light and people trying to get family photos for their Christmas cards. This is crunch time for us. And with Ryan taking night classes this year – I’ve really come to appreciate the time I do have with him. Most days we don’t even get to see each other until 10 or 11 pm. So when we’re both home I relish enjoying the little things with him.
I’m thankful that I have a home this year. This time last year, Ryan and I were living with our dear friend, Matt. We are so very blessed to have a friend who was kind enough to let us stay in his home for the first couple months after our house burned down. But it is truly a wonderful feeling to have your own place to call home. And I will always be grateful for that!
I’m thankful to have family nearby. I’m very blessed in that both Ryan’s family and mine live within easy driving range so that we can visit regularly. I love that both his grandparents and my grandma aren’t far away either and I love that our families always have get togethers this time of year. I’m thankful for such wonderful family.
I’m thankful to have such amazing clients. People, like you, who love what I do and are happy to invest in my artwork. It’s truly a blessing to be invited into such wonderful people’s lives and document such special milestones in their lives. I am incredibly blessed in that regard!
But most of all I’m thankful to still be here. It’s a miracle really that I woke up in time to get us out of our home before it was engulfed in flames. So I’m incredibly, incredibly thankful for another year of life and health on this green earth.
I hope you all are having a wonderful Thanksgiving with those you love! I will see you tomorrow! 🙂
