Genuine, Honest Moments…
The past few weeks have been filled with planning, brainstorming, designing, and preparing for this new year. As I’ve been working on all these details I am reminded of how incredibly lucky I am to be a part of my clients lives. To be able to create unique pieces of art for their homes and to document these special moments in their lives.
For me as an artist, I experience the most excitement and joy in capturing the unscripted moments. The moments between those somewhat posed portraits. The hand holding, the little grin, the giggles and interactions. These are the moments I’d want to remember. Give me a genuine honest moment in a portrait and I will choose it over the photo where everyone looks perfect every single time.
For me as a client, I want those real moments as well. I want to remember the way Ryan looks at me when I tell him a funny story. The way he looks at my lips just before he kisses me. The twinkle in his eye when he finds something funny. I want to remember how desperate my sweet Lucy puppy is for attention and how stubborn Kit puppy can be. I want to remember how we choose spending time together over having a spotless kitchen an how much we enjoy each others company. Going through some of our old photos, the ones I love and cherish the most are the ones that aren’t perfect, but images that capture genuine actions, quirks and emotions.
Real moments who show who we are…. That’s what I cherish in my portrait art and that’s what I am most excited to create for my clients. Granted – this isn’t what every client is looking for – but it’s what I try to pick up when I’m with you. Because I know for me – the little things are far more important in the long run.
Happy Monday!
