I don’t know about you but I absolutely love this weather! I thoroughly enjoy when fall comes around every year, and this year is proving no different. I have this mild obsession with super over sized sweaters. For example…right now as I’m typing this I’m wearing my husbands XL grey Carhartt zip-up sweater. The bottom of the sweater comes half-way down my thigh and the sleeves extend an extra 6 inches past the tips of my fingers. I love it! I just love feeling swallowed up by comfort and it’s like walking around wrapped in a blanket all day.

So I figured maybe I should be nice and let Ryan have his sweater and get my own nicer big baggy sweater of comfort. So Ryan joined me at the mall on my quest for my own sweater, and I’ll admit I was a little disappointed. We looked at all my favorite stores and a few I rarely shop at and we couldn’t find a singly long sweater! Apparently long sleeved, long waisted sweaters are not in fashion this fall…meh – I’ve never really followed fashion trends.

Well since I couldn’t find what I was looking for at the mall I went to my favorite online place to shop… www.etsy.com. I spent a good bit of time going through sweaters and I did find several I like. But if you know anything about me – the odds of me actually getting any of them in the next few weeks is highly unlikely.

I am absolutely horrible at spending money on myself. I’m so bad at it, in fact, that my husband’s Christmas present to me last year was a shopping trip up to Chicago. He gave me a card with a prepaid amount on it and told me he expected me to come back with all the money spent and a whole new wardrobe of clothes for myself. And for good measure he sent a friend with me to make sure I followed through.

I have gotten better on spending money on myself in the six and a half years we’ve been together though. This part year in particular. I’ve learned that it’s okay to treat yourself every once in a while. So who knows – maybe I will get an oversized sweater of comfort to wrap myself in on these breezy fall days. 🙂
