So I mentioned that I was going to write individual posts for each of the speakers from Escalate 2010. So I’m going to start with Vicki Taufer, who was the first speaker of the event.

Vicki did an amazing job with her lecture. She just got back from Nepal a day or so before the event and was going to be home for two weeks, and in that two week span she was home she had 43 photo sessions scheduled! 43 sessions in two weeks! Vicki is WonderWoman for sure!

Vicki and Jed really offer something very unique at their studio, V Gallery. The have this awesome space that is truly a reflection of themselves, their business, and what they sell their clients. There are huge framed pictures up on every wall that just seem to ooze of richness and depth and color. They are just gorgeous. And it’s a warm, inviting atmosphere. Here’s a few pics of the gallery…

They have a really awesome camera room too. There’s oodles of backdrops to choose from, at least a dozen different couches/chair options, and lots of props – and for photographers a really awesome O-ring light. I love it! Here’s a pic of the camera room…

They also have this really awesome preview room. Basically, a couple weeks after your session, you schedule a viewing session to come in and see all your pictures. Here’s the room and the ginormous screen you get to see your pictures on.

Okay – so enough pictures of the gallery.

Vicki mentioned some very cool ideas…like Limited Edition Mini-Sessions. It’s a short session – maybe 15 minutes or so – and it’s customized to fit a certain theme. Some of the Limited Edition sessions V Gallery offers include: Mom & Me, Just for Dad, Back to School, Dog Days of Summer, & Season’s Greetings. It’s a really great way to offer affordable photo sessions in short stints of time. …I haven’t decided yet is this is something I feel fits my style yet or not. But it’s definitely a great idea.
