I love our home, and I love being able to invite my clients into the comfort of our home for their sessions with me. I think sometimes when people hear that we have a home studio, they expect it to be in some tiny spare room or down in a darkened basement. Kind of an after-thought of a space. But the truth is – my life and work intermingle so much that it just makes since that my “business space” would too.

I wanted to create a quick little video to give you a better idea of what to expect. You may know we live in Kirksville, IL which is near Sullivan. We’re out in the country where it’s peaceful and calm. We love it here! When we rebuilt our home 4 years ago after the fire, we designed the rebuilt space with not only our family in mind, but all of you too! I knew I wanted to have a nice big room that we could shoot large families in. The vaulted ceilings make it easy to set up a large backdrop too which is perfect. I also love having the large picture window, which is ideal for when I want to shoot those soft, natural light portraits!

And being able to meet with you in our home makes it so much easier to have beverages and snacks on hand which is wonderful! So here’s a little peek at my introductory video to our Kirksville Home Studio!
