Well, July sure zipped by fast and here we are in August with a new issue of THRIVE! I’m sure you guys have figured out by now that I really love working with THRIVE. All these awesome ladies are just phenomenal and I have so much fun at each of our monthly meetings as we plan for the upcoming issue.

Of course August is the month we have the Decatur Celebration so we always write something about it but try to find something unique to feature. This year is the first time the celebration is going to have a DJ Showcase and honestly – that’s pretty cool! And when we say DJ work – we mean where people are actually using turntables and mixing by hand on the fly. It’s really an artform and super cool to watch and enjoy!

We also had a feature on the Perfect Pair in Warrensburg. If you’ve not been to this awesome shop – you really should check it out. There are a variety of different products available for sale and you can truly find a gift for anyone here. There’s travel mugs with cute quotes, adorable baby clothes and accessories, home decor, jewelry, and TONS more. There’s even a fun little coffee shop so you can take a break from your shopping and enjoy a warm sip of a hot cup of joe!

Lastly, I did some photo work for our Back to School gift guide. This year is all about personalization! So we’re sharing some local small businesses where you can get a variety of your back to school products personalized. From back packs to pencil boxes, from hair bows to water bottles. There a slew of options available to have something fun and custom for your little school goer!
