Camera Equipment: What I Use and Why
So last week I promised you a video on my camera equipment and then the video took too long to upload on my super slow country internet so here I am – making good on my promise and sharing it with you today.
People always ask me what camera and lenses I use so I thought it would be a great idea to just go ahead and share all the information with you. Now to be completely honest – it’s not enough having a really nice or expensive camera. If you don’t know how to use it – it still won’t take really phenomenal pictures. A truly professional photographer knows how their gear works and how to use it to make beautiful, high quality portraits.
Please bear in mind, I didn’t start this business with the top of the line gear. I saved up and slowly upgraded. I started on a film camera then upgraded to a Canon Rebel, then the 5d Mark II and now the Mark III. I loved each camera while I was using it. So don’t think I’m saying you have to have the most expensive camera and lenses to be a great photographer. I personally never buy new equipment unless I have the business funds available to do so. I’m not one to go into serious debt for my business. We’re all different so you decide what’s best for you!
This is only my second little video so I’m still adjusting to doing these. I promise – they’ll get better 😉 I’ll include the list of my gear below the video too 🙂
• Canon 5D Mark III (primary camera)
• Canon 5D Mark II (back up camera)
• 2 – Canon EF 24-70mm f/4.0 Lens
• Canon EF 85mm f1.2 Lens

If you like this video, let me know! I’d love to make more of these little things in the future if you like having the video over writing from time to time.
