Spring is finally here! It seems that the warmer weather has decided to creep out and stick around. The trees are budding and blooming and the birds are chirping away! And I couldn’t be more excited!

This has been a really long winter for us here in the Midwest. One of the longest I can remember, and certainly the longest since I went into business. If I’m being honest – I don’t mind the cold or the snow, but it does dramatically cut back on sessions and for that reason – I’m so glad spring has finally sprung! I’ve already had two senior sessions and this week I’ll be doing a maternity and newborn too. It just feels so great to finally be getting back to doing what I love!

On one of the rainier days last week, I wanted to make sure I took some time to capture the little buds on our dogwood tree. This tree was the original basis for my Green Tree Media logo all those years ago. It was a very different tree then though. So full and strong! It took a little beating during the fire and it’s not as big and beautiful as it once was. It’s a little battle worn, thinner, not so thickly leaved. But it’s still here and we’re trying to bring it around. It still has these lovely little pink buds… the birds still perch in its boughs…
