A Friday Update…

April 1, 2011

It’s Thursday night and I’m sitting in my living room trying to decide what to share with you. Sometimes it can be hard coming up with things to post on this little space amidst the enormity of the internet…especially when I’m in my slow season. But things are finally starting to pick up around here.

Tomorrow morning (or this morning by the time you’re reading this) I’m doing a commercial shoot for the magazine Healthy Cells. I’m very excited about it  because I’m actually going to be photographing a live surgery! How cool is that? It’s an orthopedic surgery – most likely for something in the hand and/0r arm region – so I’m not even slightly worried about the queasy factor. After the surgery I’m going to be heading upstairs to the surgeons office and take pictures of the staff in action. This is my favorite way to photograph! None of that overly posed, facing the camera, “smile everyone” kind of pictures. I like the pictures of people doing their everyday things. It’s more authentic and genuine… Two things that I’m all about! 🙂

Then on Saturday, I have my first engagement session of the year! Yay! I’m so excited, I can hardly contain myself! I can’t wait to get some fun, creative, and genuine images of Andrea and RC. I’ve basically spent the last week dreaming of things we might do. 🙂

And now that spring is finally here it seems – I’m starting to get things in order for senior photos. I’ve already delivered my info to DCS, LSA, and I’m working on scheduling a time to come in and talk at St. Teresa. I had such a wonderful group of young ladies and men last year – I’m super excited to meet this year’s seniors too!

On a personal note, our kitchen cabinets are coming along! I’m hoping by next week to have the kitchen cabinets all done. They are already looking great so I’m ready to see what the finished product looks like. 🙂

Have a happy Friday and  a wonderful weekend!
