My Favorite Time of Year
This is honestly – my favorite time of year. There is so much I love about fall and not just because I’m a photographer. I mean yes – I love the fall colors in photos and the amazing glowy warm light. But I love the feel of fall. That calm quiet that covers the land – so still you can hear the rustle of the leaves through the trees and the squirrels scampering through in search of nuts. I love the sound and feel of leaves crunching under my boots. I love this weather – so perfect for scarves and sweaters and gloves and fuzzy hats. I love bonfires and cookouts – sitting around a fire and laughing and talking until the wee hours of the morning. It’s the perfect weather for all food and beverages that are warm – coffee, hot apple cider, hot cooca, soups and stews. It’s the time of year to visit pumpkin patches and apple orchards – a day of fun and returning home some tasty treats. It’s cuddling under blankets and watching movies with Ryan and relaxing a little more in the evenings.
It’s the season that reminds me most to slow down. Life moves so fast and everything can change in the blink of an eye. The days are shorter – so it becomes so much more important in the fall to make the most of them. And that’s what I’m striving to do each and every day!
I hope you are having a magnificent Monday and enjoying the fall colors where you are as much as we are here! (The above picture is just down the road from my house this past weekend.)
