Tyler & Sarah’s Wedding | Decatur, IL | Wedding Photography
I am so excited to be sharing this wedding with you today! I have so much love for these two young people and it was such a joy and honor to be a part of their special day! Words honestly cannot fully express how very happy I am for the two of them!
Despite the rainy forecast, we met our glowing and cheery as sunshine bride to be at Mint Salon in Decatur where all the lovely ladies were getting their hair and makeup done. Everyone was all excited and enjoying the awesome tunes on Pandora while the finishing touches were being done. Once they were all ready we headed to the Maid of Honors house so they girls could grab a quick bite before getting dressed, and heading out to Mt. Zion.
Sarah and Tyler opted to do a First Look (which I love!) and wanted to have their first glimpse of each other someplace secluded a private. My dear friends at the Four E’s Christmas Tree Farm were amazing and let us trek over to their property so Tyler could have somewhere special to sneak his first peek at his gorgeous bride! It wasn’t as private a first look as we liked because with the rain Sarah had an entourage of assistants to carry her train, cover her with umbrellas, and put a towel on the ground to keep her dress from getting dirty. Personally I think it made the moment that much more special and unique! And to be honest – it seemed like all of us melted away into the background when Tyler turned and saw Sarah in her radiant beauty! Such a beautiful moment to witness and document!
The ceremony at Fletcher Park may have been quick and a little damp but the love was definitely evident. So many happy people eager to watch the service and so many laughs and smiles and tears of joy. Again – another beautiful event to bear witness too. And when the vows had been said and they were made man and wife, everyone piled in cars and made their way to the Southside Country Club so the party could begin. I really had an incredibly difficult time narrowing down the images from their day – so here’s just a tiny peek into their incredible day!

After the wedding, I met with Sarah and Tyler and asked them a few questions about their big day! Here’s what they had to say! 🙂
You’re hairdresser and makeup artist did a phenomenal job on all your lovely ladies! Who did you have help with that?
Brook Banning at Mint Salon in Decatur did my hair, as well as the hair of the moms, bridesmaids, and junior bridesmaids. Katie Fucinari from Salon 402 in Decatur did my makeup, as well as the moms and bridesmaids. They did a wonderful job and were fantastic to work with!
Your wedding dress was gorgeous! Where did you find it?
I found my wedding dress at Blossoms Bridal in Ellisville, MO.
I really loved the guys’ tuxes! Who did you go to for those?
The guys’ tuxes were rented from Michelle’s Bridal in Champaign. We worked with Monica and she was extremely helpful and accommodating for all of our out of town groomsmen.
Your bouquets were so perfect! Who made them?
Jody Cox from An Affair to Remember in Decatur ordered all of the flowers from one of her personal vendors. She was in charge of bouquets and centerpieces (and everything else!).
I loved your custom program and little illustrative details! Who should we credit for that awesomeness?
My maid of honor, Jillian Devereux, was my paper provider for the wedding. She was in charge of Save the Dates, Wedding Invitations, Bridal Shower Invites, Bridal Shower Thank Yous, Rehearsal Dinner Invitations, Wedding Programs, and the menus on the tables at the reception (and more!). Check her out on Facebook or at jilliandevereux.com.
Is there anyone in particular you’d like to thank for their help?
I would like to thank both my parents and Tyler’s parents for helping the both of us have the wedding of our dreams. Everyone in the bridal party helped to make this day special as well. We worked with so many great vendors, and they all contributed in some way to our wedding day. I’d also like to thank Tyler for being such a great help when it came to planning!!
Is there one funny, silly, happy, etc …moment that you’ll never forget?
I will never forget the fact that two of my bridesmaids buried a bottle of bourbon upside down at the ceremony site exactly one month before the wedding. This is a Southern wedding tradition that is supposed to grant you good weather on your wedding day. However, it still rained all day on Saturday. I would not trade the rain for a sunny day though, it was perfect!
If you had to go back and do it all over again, is there anything you’d change?
Absolutely not! I would not wish a rainy day on any bride, but it definitely isn’t the end of the world!
Any advice for future brides and grooms?
My advice to future brides would be to use your groom! Tyler was the biggest help in talking with our vendors, setting up meetings, etc. He took a lot of the stress out of planning!
Well I hope you all have enjoyed this little glimpse into Sarah & Tyler’s big day! It was truly such an honor and blessing to be a part of their big day and see these two awesome individuals officially tie the knot! Ryan and I wish you both years of joy, happiness, and laughter together. And may all your hopes and dreams for the future come true!
