Bruce & Casey Evans Wedding | Brad O Clen, Arthur, IL | Wedding Photography
I had been looking forward to Casey and Bruce’s wedding for quite a while… Ever since we first started talking about it back at Lady Palooza in Mt. Zion earlier this year! I really couldn’t have been more blessed to get to work with two such sweet and upbeat people! I have to say – these two had so many obstacles land in their path leading up to the wedding and despite all of that – they made it to the wedding day with just as much strength and love as ever!
It was an absolutely perfect day for an outdoor wedding. Casey and Bruce had planned to get married at Brad O Clen just outside of Arthur. They had set up rows of hay bales covered in white linen, scrap wood walls, old wooden crates and an assortment of burlap and lace details. Every bit of this wedding was beautifully done and there were so many sweet and personal touches to it too! Like the stained glass window hanging behind the altar – it was from the church that Casey’s mother and grandmother got married in. I love weddings that have so many sentimental touches.
I got Bruce set up for their first look and went back to get Casey who looked absolutely stunning! I could tell Bruce was excited and Casey was a little nervous. I love First Looks! It was one of the few times that day Casey and Bruce had to themselves and you could tell they enjoyed it. There may have even been a couple happy tears 😉
I could go on and on about how awesome and perfect their day was but I know my words won’t do as much justice to their day as these images will. So here’s a glimpse into Bruce and Casey’s big day!
Bruce and Casey it was an honor getting to know you and your family! Ryan and I had so much fun on your big day and consider ourselves truly lucky to have been able to capture such a special moment in your lives. May you two have years and years of love, joy, and laughter together!

I managed to pick Casey’s brain during their viewing session about some of the touches of their day for future brides. Here’s what Casey had to share 🙂
I loved your dress the detailing on it was just beautiful and tied in with the overall theme of the wedding so well! Where did you find it?
David’s Bridal is where I found it.
I really loved the guys’ vests too! That paisley design is just awesome! Who did you go to for those?
Men’s Warehouse in Champaign.
I adored your bouquets! I know you made the burlap roses in yours (which are amazing by the way!) But who put together the bouquets for you? They did an excellent job!
A Bloom Above and Beyond in Tuscola.
I know lots of people are going to be interested in the outdoor chapel set up. What would you like to share about that?
A friend of mine bought the outdoor chapel on Craigslist last year and she was kind enough to let us use it for our wedding.
Is there anyone in particular you’d like to thank for their help?
Definitely Kimmy and Wayne Peachie for the chapel set up along with a lot of the other details on our wedding day. Darryl Negangard for providing all the hay bales and did all the driving for set up too. Aunt Ginger… for everything!!! Haha – She was an awesome wedding coordinator and made sure we got everything done. And Spike and Karen for making the wine box and the tree for the cupcakes at the reception and they provided our guest book window too. They were a LOT of help. And of course, Neal Fentress and Melanie Baer for letting us use their car as our getaway vehicle. Also, we would like to thank our parents. Absolutely, without them…none of this would be possible!
Is there one funny, silly, happy, etc …moment that you’ll never forget?
The whole thing honestly. Considering all the bad things that happened before the wedding – the wedding itself was when all the good started.
If you had to go back and do it all over again, is there anything you’d change?
Just have more things go right ahead of time.
Any advice for future brides and grooms?
I saw a quote on pinterest that said, a wedding is not a performance, but a party. So if everything doesn’t go right if at the end of the day you’re married to your best friend that’s all that matters – or something like that. And I honestly think that really sums up our wedding.
I hope everyone enjoyed this little peek into Bruce and Casey’s big day! I hope you’re all having a wonderful Friday and big fun plans for the weekend. I’ll be headed out of state for a convention Saturday through Monday, but I’ll be back in the office on Tuesday to return any emails or calls I may have missed! Have a great rest of the day and weekend!
