Some Exciting News!
So I do have some exciting news to share. If you follow my Facebook page at all – you may have noticed that earlier this week I was nervous about a couple meetings I had at some schools here in town. I’m sorry I didn’t give more information at the time, but I wanted to be sure of what was decided before I made any statements.
The first meeting I had was at Lourdes with the principal, Mrs. Hagenbach. It felt strange sitting on the bench in my old grade school and it was really cool to see my name, my brothers’ names and my friends’ names on the plaques in the hall. This was the meeting I was most nervous about because I didn’t really know what to expect. We talked for quite a while about whether or not I might be a good fit for doing photos at Lourdes. Much to my surprise, several people had suggested me as someone they’d like to see take over the yearbook photos. Since it’s something entirely different from what I currently do, I brainstormed some interesting alternatives to the traditional method of yearbook photo taking. After our meeting, I came home, thought about it some more and did some number crunching, and eventually decided that I don’t think this is the best option for me at this time. One of the things I pride myself on is the experience and quality I provide my clients. If I took on this type of work I’m certain that my quality would suffer simply due to the sheer volume I would be taking on. I’ll be letting Mrs. Hagenbach know today. But I’m genuinely flattered so many of you thought of me and put in a good word for me.
The second meeting was a little more laid back because I already was fairly certain of the outcome based on email correspondences. And it looks like it is official! I am going to be the official photographer for LSA High School! I took some pictures of the boys basketball team in December, and the yearbook advisors was so pleased with my work that he asked if I could meet with him.
The meeting went splendidly and I will now be taking pictures of some of the extra curricular organizations all the events at LSA, which includes: all sporting events, graduation, awards ceremonies, community service projects and prom. So yup! I’m pretty excited! LSA is the perfect size for me to be able to undertake the work and I’m currently not going to be doing any yearbook photos – except the senior photos I think. Some of the details need to be worked out yet just so I know exactly what they’d like from me, but otherwise we’re all set to go!
So I’m super excited about that! I’ve also been getting lots of goodies at the studio! I’m so giddy with how many people are ordering Albums and Story Books! I have so much fun designing them and I love seeing the finished product and how pleased my clients are with them! So thanks to everyone who has ordered one! You’re the best!
We’ve also gotten in some awesome new samples! Last year I only had my 12×12, 20 page album and 10×10, 10 page albums. This year I’ve already added an 8×8 Story Book, a set of mini accordion books, some lovely new wall art, a session video, and a gallery warp. I haven’t quite gotten everything ordered in yet – but I’m so excited about the way everything is coming together at the studio. It’ll be so much nicer to be able to show you samples of exactly what you’re thinking of buying. So look for some photo updates of all these new lovely things int he next few weeks!
I hope you all had a wonderful week and have some fun plans for this weekend! We’ll be doing our Tutus and Bow Ties Mini Session on Saturday and I’ll see you all back here on Monday!
