As a photographer it’s easy to get caught up in taking pictures of everyone else and forget (or push off) getting pictures that include yourself. I’ll admit I’m guilty of this. It’s not so much because I hate having my picture taken… It’s more because I’ve become a bit of a control freak. I know where my camera needs to be to get a good picture of myself, and I know what style I like and I want pictures of me to be in my style.

But every year before Christmas I try to get in a family session of me, Ryan, and Kit for our Christmas cards. There is actually a box of Christmas cards sitting in my bedroom waiting to be sent out because I no longer have the addresses for people I normally send them to. So if you want one – email me your address and I’ll get one to you! 🙂

Anyway… usually I have my little brother Jeremy take these pictures because he listens really well and I can tell him what to do and he knows what I mean and what I’m looking for. But I figured I’d give him the year off and just have my mother-in-law do it this year. She did pretty well considering she just uses a simple point and shoot camera or her phone for most of her pictures. So here’s a little sneak peek at our family…
