Over the past weekend, we were blessed with an opportunity to go and spend some time with Ryan’s family up at Kishauwau Country Cabins. We began the drive north and Ryan’s mom contacted us to let us know that there was no cell reception where we were staying… And honestly – I was totally okay with that! It meant turning off from technology and the world of social media and just remaining blissfully in the moment, connecting with family instead.

Marlee did a great job on the car ride north. Ryan’s job is currently demanding a lot of him, so we couldn’t leave until close to 5:30 pm, which meant we arrived at the cabin at around 8 pm or right at Marlee’s bedtime. Well with all the excitement of the drive and arriving at a new place. This little lady got out of her car seat and immediately started running around the cabin squealing with delight. She bounced off the couch arm and giggled hysterically and continued to giggle and run around like a giddy, slap-happy baby for the next 15 minutes at least. It was hilariously adorable!

The cabin was awesome, it’s set up to accomodate 14 people, which is pretty fantastic. There’s one big room with a kitchen, eating, and living area. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom off of each side of the space for a total of four bedrooms and two bathrooms. And there were six single beds in the main area too. Out back was a fire pit and lawn chairs and there’s plenty of space between cabins. It was beautiful, calm and peaceful and absolutely perfect for our family to spend time together.

We got to cook food, go walking, talk, play games, wander around outside with Marlee, watch movies, play inside with Marlee, and just live together for 3 days. It was pretty awesome and I think we all had a good time! Since I had my phone off the whole time we were gone… I actually got out my big girl camera and took some pictures and I’m so glad I did. These are memories I think we will all cherish forever and I thought I’d share a little peek with you!
