The Smith Family Portraits | Decatur, IL

November 25, 2015

“It’s already been a year!” This was the subject to Sean’s email to me about scheduling their annual family portraits, and it definitely put a smile on my face. Every year I get the immense blessing of photographing the Smith family, and every year I feel infinitely blessed to get to see them again!

Sean and Sarah are two of the nicest and most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They are both so kind and so genuine – it’s a pleasure getting to spend time with them. And Wyatt and Lincoln are not only adorable but hilarious too. We’ve done a variety of different locations for this fun family of four over the years. We’ve done two different locations in Sullivan as well as Fletcher Park in Mt. Zion. And this year, Sean gave me free-reign to select the location. So I decided we should try out Sportsman Park because I hadn’t shot there in a while and I thought it would be a fun and different look for them.

I’m not going to lie when Sarah opened the van door and Wyatt peeked his head out and said “Hi Stephanie!” And then Lincoln came around the side of the van and said the same… my heart may have melted. I just love these two little guys and they are so  much fun! Seriously – I think we spent most of their session giggling. We talked about transformers and turtles and what they were for Halloween. I loved listening to them talk and hearing their laughter!

I had so much fun getting to document this awesome family again this year! Here’s a glimpse at a few of their favorites!

PS – I have to give a shout out to my awesome niece, Mackinzey, for being a fantastic assistant at this portrait shoot and manning the light!
