2013 Decatur Duck Derby | Decatur, IL | Children’s Museum of Illinois | Event Photography
Another year and I was once again asked to document the Decatur Duck Derby! I was very excited to see all the activities, fun and kiddos enjoying the events of the day. The Children’s Museum of Illinois always does such a great job with their events, and especially with the Duck Derby! Due to the rain – most of the fun took place inside the museum. Kids could design their own derby hats, play a variety of games, enjoy some food and then watch the ducks take off in the big race. Children, parents, and grandparents alike were all having fun and I had a blast watching a snapping away! Here’s just a few of my favorite peeks from the Duck Derby day!
Congratulations to all the winners! Nancy Hunter of Decatur won first place and $3,500. Second place and $1,000 was won by Jon Maas of Mount Zion, and Gay Donahue of Decatur won third place and $500. This year, the derby sold 3,460 rubber ducks and raised more than $13,700 for the museum, which is fantastic as the Derby is the biggest fundraiser for the year!
Well I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse of the Duck Derby at the Children’s Museum of Illinois! It was tons of fun, and it would be awesome to see you there next year! Have a great rest of your Monday!
