Autumn Collins | LSA High School | Decatur, IL | Senior Photography

August 20, 2014

Another day and another lovely senior lady I get to show off to all of you today! I’ve had the wonderful pleasure of knowing this beauty for a couple years now. I did Autumn’s older brother, Trent’s, senior portraits a couple years ago. So of course, I’m thrilled to get to document her senior year as well!

Autumn attends LSA in Decatur so I get to see her fairly often when I’m at school. Autumn is a senior on the cheerleading squad this year and I’m looking forward to watching her and the other girls cheer this year. In addition to cheering – I’ve also gotten to listen to Autumn sing in the choir at several of the school functions over the years, and I’m sure she’ll be singing again this year too. Don’t let her blonde hair and big blue eyes fool you though – Autumn is very bright too! She gets great grades in school and because of those grades she’s part of the National Honor Society. And to top it off – she also is a working lady – earning her wage as a waitress as the hostess at Main Hanger.

I can honestly say, poor Autumn probably had the rockiest start to a senior session I’ve ever heard of. Her mom called me to tell me the hairdresser messed up Autumn’s hair so they were going to have to run home and fix it. Once they got on the road headed to Sullivan for her session, they realized they’d forgotten her cheer uniform so she had to turn around and go back to get it. The poor girl had so many bumps leading up to her session, but you know what – she didn’t let it get her down! She showed up at my house with determination and grin on her face and looking beautiful as always. We started her session at Camp Camfield – a conservation just down the road from our Kirksville home studio. Autumn got to have the fun of using our new pop up changing tent. Once we finished up here – we headed to Bo Woods to get some awesome shots with the lake. It was pretty dark by this point in the session so we had fun using some off camera lighting and creating some really fun, different, and dramatic looks.

I could write a book about Autumn. She’s such a sweet, fun, confident, funny, strong young woman. I’m so proud to have gotten to know her and to get to work with her to capture some really unique portraits for her senior year. Here’s just a little glimpse at a few of Autumn’s favorites!
